The Lone Goat

Fool me once. Fool me twice. Fool me thrice?

Ouch.

I want The Lone Goat to work. I really do.

On paper, this place should hit. A downtown English pub setup, draught beers, pub grub, hotel traffic, a good-looking bar, and the kind of location that should make it an easy stop before or after a night out.

But after three visits, I’ve got to be honest — the service has been shyte.

Not sure how. Not sure why. It’s never been slammed when I’ve gone in, but somehow every time I needed another drink, it felt like I had to wave someone down like I was signaling a rescue helicopter.

The place just hasn’t felt approachable or welcoming to me. And that’s too bad, because the concept should work.

Air ball.

But here’s where things get interesting.

This might be a new Shooki situation: the bar experience missed, but the restrooms actually delivered.

To be fair, the restrooms appear to be shared with The Element so I can’t give The Lone Goat all the credit here. But I have to call it how I see it.

If you’re downtown near this area and need a clean, spacious, private, accessible restroom that not everyone knows about — this is a good one. ♿️✨

Clean. Quiet. Roomy. Easy to use. A sneaky solid Shooki.

So while the bar itself didn’t do much for me, the restroom setup saves the day.
