Topa

I wanted to love Topa.

There’s been a lot of hype around this place, especially on social, so maybe my expectations were a little too high. The view is definitely the star here, but the overall experience felt like a new spot still trying to find its rhythm.

Parking can be tough unless you’re doing valet, so be ready for that. I walked a few blocks before finding a spot.

The check-in also felt a little more dramatic than it needed to be. I didn’t have a reservation, and it sounded like squeezing me in would be nearly impossible… only to get upstairs and see plenty of space. Not the end of the world, just a little off-putting.

Outside, the view was great, but the setup felt a bit unfinished. The furniture and patio area didn’t have much personality yet, and honestly, it gave off a little “we rushed to open” energy. To be fair, I was told they had only been open a couple weeks, so this might be a spot worth revisiting after they settle in.

For rooftop drinks and views, I’d still probably pick Kamper’s or Monarch first. Just my honest opinion.

Now, the restrooms.

They did cover capacity with three private unisex restrooms, which I appreciate. But the one I used had toilet paper on the floor and was out of hand soap, so I had to use another restroom to wash up.

For a brand-new rooftop bar, I also expected a little more design-wise. Nothing terrible, just not much of a wow moment.

Cleanliness is the biggest thing for me, so Topa lands at a 6/10.
