The Shooki Review
Visited June 2026
The LOVE Building feels like one of those places where the name actually means something.
A community space in Core City built around justice, creativity, access, and care — which, in Detroit, matters. Not just as a nice idea on a website, but in the actual bones of the building.
You walk in and it feels intentional. Not flashy. Not trying too hard. Just thoughtful. A place designed for people to gather, organize, create, learn, and hopefully leave feeling a little more connected than when they came in.
Now, the restrooms.
This is where The LOVE Building really delivers.
They have a bunch of private unisex restrooms, which already puts them in strong Shooki territory. Capacity? Covered. Privacy? Covered. Accessibility? Very much covered. ♿️
They were clean, well stocked, and clearly cared for.
Baby changing stations. Feminine products. Mouthwash. Lotion. Paper towels. The details were there, and the details matter.
This is the kind of restroom setup more buildings should be paying attention to. Not just clean for the sake of looking good, but stocked in a way that actually thinks about the people using it.
The LOVE Building lands at a 9/10.
Well done. This one deserves the love. 👏🏼
