The Detroit Club feels like old Detroit money in the best way.
Elegant, quiet, polished, and a little mysterious. The kind of place that makes you stand up straighter when you walk in, like you wandered into a grand hotel from another era and nobody has asked you to leave yet.
There's a bar downstairs, a restaurant and a cigar lounge upstairs, and one of my favorite spas in the city down in the basement. If anyone knows a better spa in Detroit, tell me, because this one is tough to beat.
My move: a drink at the Library Bar, then upstairs for a cigar if that's your thing.
This is a private club, though, not somewhere to drop in off the street. If you're not a member, check the current Club Pass and reservation terms before you go.
