The Bastille is one of those places you somehow miss until you don't.
It sits in a part of Detroit with plenty of traffic around it and still manages to feel a little hidden. From the outside it gives you speakeasy. Inside, it's more of a beer-drinking, pool-playing, after-dinner kind of joint.
Not too polished. Not too loud. Somewhere in that sweet middle ground between Spkrbox and Queens Bar.
It's a good spot for the night you're not ready to go home yet but aren't trying to make a whole production out of it either.
