An expanded Corktown izakaya whose approachable bar, conversation, sake, noodles, whisky, food, and service worked well for Shooki in May.
Ima Izakaya felt upgraded after its move across the street during Shooki's May 2026 visit. The expanded room fit more people, and the approachable bar made it easy for the reviewer to strike up conversations.
Shooki enjoyed the sake, noodles, Japanese whisky, food, and service on that visit. Missing Guinness on draft was a personal disappointment rather than a quality claim. The positive food and service language remains tied to the reviewed experience and does not promise the same outcome every time.
