The Roost Detroit Cafe

The Roost is one of those quiet little neighborhood spots that feels like it belongs exactly where it is.

Tucked into historic Woodbridge, it has that calm Detroit morning energy — coffee in hand, old homes around you, a patio that probably hits just right when the weather finally remembers how to act.

It’s cute. It’s quiet. It’s got outdoor seating for the summer months, and inside, it’s more than just coffee. There’s a little market setup too, so you can browse, grab a drink, maybe pick up something you didn’t know you needed, and pretend you’re just “supporting local” when really you came in for the vibe.

Now, the restroom.

They have one private unisex bathroom. It was clean, had a baby changing station, hand soap, hand sanitizer, and a nice diffuser doing its job in the background.

All good things.

But one bathroom is still one bathroom. And because it’s located right near where customers order, it doesn’t feel as private as you’d hope. Accessibility was also an issue, which brings the score down. 🚫♿️

Clean restroom. Thoughtful touches. But capacity, privacy, and accessibility matter on Shooki.

The Roost lands at a 6/10.
