Sun shining. Weather perfect. USMNT playing a World Cup match. And I'm sitting in a place that feels like it was built for exactly this kind of moment.
Big room, open windows, outdoor seating, drinks flowing, Kreuzberg energy, döner on the menu. The kind of place that should be packed with people yelling at a screen and pretending soccer has always been their whole personality. To be fair, the game was on. Then I got the boot before it really started, because they closed at nine on a Thursday. A Berlin-inspired bar closing before kickoff. Berlin would never.
Maybe that's the posted hours, fair enough. But it's an airball for a place that feels like it should own nights like this.
Outside of that, the space is great. Supergeil has style and the decor hits. On an eighty-degree Detroit day with the windows open and a drink in hand, it's one of those spots you want to like more than you actually do. I wanted a better wine list — Michigan-only is a tough sell for me — and the döner, which is the whole point here, didn't blow me away.
Not trying to hate. Just being real.

- Two accessible private rooms with good supplies and real design would sit higher. The state of the room I used on the night holds it at a 6.

- Two rooms for a room this size, which works on a quiet afternoon and would not on the packed night the place is built for.
Two private rooms, each marked for anyone to use. They're spacious, the decor is genuinely good — chevron wall tile, patterned encaustic floors, framed vintage liquor posters — and there are paper towels, which I always appreciate.
The rooms split their fixtures in an unusual way: one has the toilet, the other has a urinal, and each has its own wall-hung sink. Both have grab bars, the corridor sign carries the accessible symbol, and these are accessible rooms.
The room I used was unclean, which was a bummer, and that's the thing keeping the score where it is.
There's potential here. The bones are good.
