Sid Gold's Request Room is Detroit's piano karaoke bar, hiding down the alley behind the Siren Hotel — look for the neon. There's no karaoke machine here: you drop a song request (and a tip) with the pianist, the lyrics pop up on an iPad, and the whole room sings it with you. The catalog runs from the '50s to whatever's on the radio right now, the cocktails are strong, and the room is small enough that a reservation is the smart move — this place fills up fast on weekends. Heads up on the drink minimum, and yes, you're tipping the piano player too. It's loud, it's communal, and it's one of the most fun nights out downtown.

Now, the restrooms. Clean and functional, which is honestly more than I expect from a packed singalong bar at midnight. They were kept up during my visit and did the job without drama. That said, nothing in there is winning an encore — no standout amenities, and in a room this small you may be waiting your turn between songs, same as at the piano.
