Brooklyn Street Local is one of those Corktown spots that just makes sense.
No big ego. No overdone downtown performance. Just breakfast, brunch, lunch, good people, and the kind of food that feels like somebody actually cared before it hit the plate.
And I’ve got to say it — this might be the best poutine I’ve had in Michigan.
Rich, messy, comforting, dangerous. The kind of plate you tell yourself you’re sharing before realizing the fork has not left your hand once.
I also think they’ve got some of the best breakfast pricing in Detroit. Fresh food, local ingredients, friendly service, and you don’t walk out feeling like you just financed a small brunch empire.
Plus, the location is great. You’re right in Corktown, close enough to wander around, hit a few shops, grab a drink somewhere nearby, and let the day figure itself out.
Now, the restrooms.
They have two private unisex restrooms, which is always a strong start.
Clean, simple, and stocked with decent amenities. Nothing wildly over the top, but everything was taken care of — and sometimes that’s exactly what you want.
Brooklyn Street Local lands at a 7/10.
Great food, fair prices, solid restroom setup, and a Corktown staple worth keeping in the rotation.
