Still, I’ve traveled through a lot of airports around the world, and I’ve got to give Detroit some credit.
McNamara feels more modern, cleaner, and better maintained than plenty of airports that get a lot more attention.
Bright. Spacious. Easy enough to move through. And for a major airport, the restroom situation holds up pretty well.
Best for
- A modern, spacious terminal during my visit
- Generally clean public restrooms
- Baby changing stations and more private stalls than before
Less ideal for
- Expecting lounge-level luxury in the public restrooms
