Mitchell Street Pub Review & Bathroom Guide
Petoskey, Michigan
Restroom aside? Hell of a bar. Actual character, cold beer, good food, and the craic is mighty. The restroom lands at a 4/10.

Restroom aside? Hell of a bar. Actual character, cold beer, good food, and the craic is mighty. The restroom lands at a 4/10.
Some bars spend a fortune trying to manufacture character.
Mitchell Street Pub just has it.
Peanut shells on the floor. Old Michigan memorabilia covering the walls. Toys, antiques, cold beer, burgers, white chili, and a legendary moose watching over the whole operation like he’s seen some things.
This is a proper northern Michigan neighborhood pub.
Twenty-two beers on tap. A jukebox they proudly claim is the best north of the 45th parallel. Locals packed around the bar. People talking to people they didn’t arrive with.
The craic is mighty.
And honestly, that’s why I love places like this.
Nothing polished. Nothing pretending to be something it isn’t. You come in, grab a beer, eat something heavy, put some money in the jukebox, and let the night figure itself out.
Best for
- A proper northern Michigan neighborhood pub
- Cold beer, burgers, white chili and the jukebox
- A bar with actual character and local energy
Less ideal for
- Expecting a clean, spacious restroom with extra amenities
- Easy restroom access during my visit

Now, the restrooms.
This is where the northern Michigan pub experience gets a little too authentic.
Not particularly clean. Limited capacity. Bare-minimum amenities. And accessibility is basically nonexistent. 🚫♿️
It’s the classic old-pub restroom situation.
Functional enough to get the job done.
But you’re not going down there looking for luxury.
Mitchell Street Pub lands at a 4/10 on Shooki.
