Dusty’s Cellar Review & Bathroom Guide
Okemos, Michigan
Come for the bottles you can’t find elsewhere. Stay for the cheese and sweets. Just don’t expect vineyard views, or a particularly late night. Functional but dated restrooms: 6/10.

Wine. Cheese. Pastries. Dinner. Bottles you normally have to drive back to Detroit to find.
Dusty’s is one of those strange little Mid-Michigan institutions determined to cover every civilized vice under one roof and, for the most part, it succeeds.
The wine selection is easily one of the best I’ve found in the area. Serious bottles. Familiar labels. The kind of stuff I usually only see back home.
You’ll pay a premium for the privilege, but out here, beggars can’t always be choosers. Sometimes you see the bottle, accept the markup, and get on with your evening.
There’s cheese, sweets, a bakery, a restaurant, and enough gourmet goods to turn a quick stop into an expensive little expedition.
The setting, however, does it no favors.
It’s in a plaza. No great view. No romantic street scene. No old building whispering stories into your glass. The atmosphere has to come almost entirely from what’s on the table and thankfully, the wine does some heavy lifting.
My other complaint: the hours feel painfully early for a place built around lingering over food and wine. An establishment like this should encourage one more glass, not make you start checking the clock before the night has properly begun.
Best for
- Serious wine bottles and familiar labels
- Cheese, sweets, a bakery and dinner
- A stop that can become an expensive little expedition
Less ideal for
- The premium I paid for the wine selection
- Plaza views and the early hours during my visit
- A modern restroom with generous capacity

Restroom verdict
Nothing disastrous. Nothing memorable. Just a restroom that feels like it was left behind while the wine program moved forward. 6/10.
- Restroom inventory
- 1 reviewed area — 1 shared men’s restroom and 1 women’s restroom; total venue room count unknown
- Review coverage
- Men door and Women directional signage photographed; only the men’s interior evidenced. One toilet stall, one urinal and one basin observed in source photos, with soap and paper hand towels. Caption capacity concerns describe the visit. No complete venue inventory, further room counts or women’s room conditions were established.
- Room reviewed
- One shared men’s restroom interior from my Dusty’s Cellar visit
- Accessibility status
- Unknown · An accessibility symbol appears on the Men door and a grab bar is visible in source stall photos. Full route, measurements and accessibility compliance were not verified.
- Why this score
- Functional but dated during my visit, with basic amenities and limited capacity. That lands Dusty’s at 6/10.
- Layout
- My review covers the restroom I visited. Complete venue room designations and counts were not recorded.
- Capacity
- I described limited capacity in my caption. Complete venue room and fixture totals were not recorded.
Now, the restrooms.
They were functional, but dated. Basic amenities, limited capacity, and not quite enough support for the number of people the entire operation can bring through.
Nothing disastrous. Nothing memorable. Just a restroom that feels like it was left behind while the wine program moved forward.
That lands Dusty’s at a 6/10.
