Black Cat Coffee Review & Bathroom Guide

Mount Clemens, Michigan

Cool space. Great service. Solid Shooki. Coffee just didn’t quite hit the way I wanted it to. Black Cat lands at a 7/10.

Shooki’s Review of Black Cat Coffee

Cool space. Great service. Solid Shooki. Coffee just didn’t quite hit the way I wanted it to. Black Cat lands at a 7/10.

Black Cat has a good little thing going.

Right in downtown Mount Clemens, the room has that small-town coffee shop charm without feeling sleepy. A little music in the air, people coming and going, summer energy outside, and enough character inside to make you want to sit down for a while and see what the place is about.

The space itself is cool.

Good vibe. Nice layout. Friendly service. The kind of spot that feels like it could easily become someone’s regular stop before work, after a walk, or during one of those “I need to get out of the house before I lose my mind” kind of days.

Coffee-wise, though, I’ve got to be honest.

It didn’t blow me away.

When I go to a smaller mom-and-pop coffee shop, I’m looking for that cup that separates itself from the Starbucks and Biggby world. Something with a little more edge. A little more personality. Something that makes you stop mid-sip and go, okay, that’s why I came here.

This one was fine. Just not memorable.

Best for

  • Small-town coffee shop charm in downtown Mount Clemens
  • A cool space, friendly service and sitting down for a while
  • Two private unisex restrooms

Less ideal for

  • Coffee that separates itself from the Starbucks and Biggby world
  • Black toilets that make cleanliness details harder to judge

The Shooki Bathroom Review

First-party restroom record · Source published August 2026

Restroom verdict

Clean enough. Private enough. Capacity covered. Two private unisex restrooms are a strong start; my only real knock is the black toilets. 7/10.

Restroom inventory
1 reviewed area — 2 private gender-neutral rooms; total venue room count unknown
Review coverage
I reported two private unisex rooms, and photographed two signed all-gender doors. The photos establish one distinct interior with a black toilet, black basin, soap, paper towels, toilet paper and grab bars. One door has a baby changing station sign; that station and the second room’s fixtures were not photographed. Both interiors and complete venue inventory were not established.
Room reviewed
At least one of the two private all-gender restrooms from my Black Cat Coffee visit
Accessibility status
Unknown · All-gender door signs include access symbols and grab bars appear in the reviewed room. Full route, dimensions, locking operation and accessibility compliance remain unverified.
Why this score
Private, well maintained and cleaner than a lot of restrooms I stumble into. The black toilets make the cleanliness details harder to judge. 7/10.
Layout
I reported two private unisex restrooms. The selected photos document the room shown; complete fixture totals across both rooms were not recorded.
Capacity
Two private unisex restrooms. Capacity felt covered during my visit; complete fixture totals were not recorded.

Now, the restrooms.

They have two private unisex restrooms, which is always a strong start.

They were private enough, well maintained, and cleaner than a lot of restrooms I stumble into on this journey.

My only real knock is the black toilets.

I get the look. I really do. But from a cleanliness standpoint, black toilets make me a little suspicious. Harder to tell what’s going on, harder to judge the details, and my followers know cleanliness is always priority one.

That said, they held up.

Clean enough. Private enough. Capacity covered.
