Alcona Brew Haus Review & Bathroom Guide
Harrisville, Michigan
Good beer. Good food. Clean facilities. A very solid northern Michigan stop. Family-friendly and brewery don’t always belong in the same sentence. Here, they do. 8/10.

Northern Michigan has a way of placing good things where you least expect them.
A stretch of road. A small town. Trees in every direction. Then suddenly, there’s Alcona Brew Haus, making its own beer, serving good food, and giving families a place to settle in without anyone having to rush elsewhere.
Family-friendly and brewery don’t always belong in the same sentence. Here, they do.
The beer was solid. The food delivered. The room felt relaxed and welcoming, the kind of place where parents can have a proper drink, the kids can eat something they’ll actually like, and everybody leaves satisfied.
They also make their pizza dough from scratch, smoke their own meats, and offer plenty of allergy-friendly and vegan options. Somebody here is clearly paying attention.
Best for
- Good beer, good food and a relaxed, welcoming room
- A brewery stop where families can settle in
- Scratch pizza dough, smoked meats and the allergy-friendly and vegan options described in my caption
Less ideal for
- Expecting wildly extravagant restroom amenities

That sounds simple.
Plenty of places still manage to get it wrong.
@alconabrew lands at an 8/10.
