Where am I?
What is this?
And why aren’t there more places like it around Michigan?
Irene’s feels like someone took a coffee shop, a restaurant, a bar, a retail space, a snack shop, a Topgolf suite, a live-music venue, and a neighborhood gathering place—and somehow made the whole thing work.
It shouldn’t.
But it does.
Walk in for coffee. Stay for lunch. Grab a drink. Hit some golf balls. Wander outside. Listen to live music. Let the kids run around at the city park behind the place while you sit back with something cold and remember that Michigan summer is painfully short.
This is what community spaces are supposed to feel like.
Not overthought. Not exclusive. Just built for people to eat, drink, gather, and enjoy themselves.
Top class.
Best for
- Coffee, lunch, drinks, golf balls and live music in one place
- A neighborhood gathering place with a city park behind it
- Clean, stocked restrooms and a baby changing station

Now, the restrooms.
Welcome to the 10/10 club. 👑
✨ Super clean ♿️ Accessible 🧑🧑🧒 Strong capacity 🚼 Baby changing station 🧴 Nice soap and proper paper towels ⚽ A soccer game built into the urinal experience, because apparently even taking a leak can become competitive here
The decor was solid, everything was stocked, and the whole setup felt like somebody actually cared about the people using it.
That sounds obvious.
It isn’t.
Plenty of establishments spend a fortune on the bar, the lighting, and the Instagram wall, then completely forget the restroom.
Irene’s didn’t.
The rest of Michigan could learn something from this setup.
