Dessert Oasis Coffee Roasters (Ferndale)

Out and about in the burbs, but Ferndale has always felt like Detroit’s cooler cousin who moved just far enough away to have parking.

I usually hit the Dessert Oasis downtown because it’s one of my favorite spots for coffee, meeting up with friends, and pretending I’m about to get a dangerous amount of remote work done.

The Ferndale location has a slightly different feel, but the bones are still there.

Good coffee. Good room. Enough space to post up, talk, work, or just sit there with a pour over and act like you know tasting notes better than you actually do.

I’m not personally running here for the pastries, but the coffee itself hits. Especially the pour overs. That’s where DOCR usually wins me over. Fresh, thoughtful, and not some sad afterthought pretending to be craft coffee.

Now, the restrooms.

They have two private unisex restrooms.

Clean. Spacious. Accessible. ♿️

No wild decor. No big design flex. But clean lines matter more to me anyway. I don’t need a restroom to look like an art installation if it’s doing the basics right.
