Pine Hall Review & Bathroom Guide

Detroit, Michigan

Damn. Detroit looks good. Pine Hall takes the rooftop-view crown for me. Strong Shooki too: very clean, spacious and private. 8/10, with my usual complaint about hand dryers.

Shooki’s Review of Pine Hall

Damn. Detroit looks good. Pine Hall takes the rooftop-view crown for me. Strong Shooki too: very clean, spacious and private. 8/10, with my usual complaint about hand dryers.

Detroit needed this.

Actually, Detroit needs more of this.

If we want to play in the same conversation as Chicago and New York, we need places where you can get above the street, order a drink, look out over the skyline and remember:

Damn. Detroit looks good.

And Pine Hall might have the best public rooftop view in the city.

The DAC rooftop gives it a serious run for its money, but unless somebody handed you a membership card, that doesn’t exactly help.

So Pine Hall takes the crown for me.

Inside, they got the mood right.

Low lighting. Beautiful decor. Floor-to-ceiling windows. Skyscrapers glowing outside. Fire pits waiting on the terrace.

Daytime works.

Nighttime might be even better.

I grabbed a reasonably priced Pinot and just enjoyed the view.

I didn’t eat, so I’m not pretending to review the food.

My only selfish request?

More Champagne options.

They’ve got Marc Hébrart Rosé from Champagne, which I absolutely appreciate and Dom Pérignon if you’re feeling financially reckless.

But this is a rooftop built for sunshine, skyline views, and sitting around longer than you planned.

Give me a few more approachable Champagne choices, especially by the glass.

People want to come up here, order bubbles, and pretend Monday doesn’t exist.

Let us live, @pinehall 🥂

And an even stronger addition to downtown Detroit.

I’ll absolutely be back.

Preferably with a bottle of bubbles and one of those fire pits.

Best for

  • Skyline views and a drink above the street
  • A Pinot and one of those fire pits
  • Sunshine, bubbles and sitting longer than you planned

Less ideal for

  • A food verdict — I didn’t eat
  • Hand dryers after washing your hands

8/10.

Everything worked.

Except you already know how I feel about hand dryers.

I just washed my hands. Now I’m supposed to grab the same door handle as everybody else?

Give me a paper towel and let me leave in peace.

Still, strong Shooki.
