Embassy Tavern Review & Bathroom Guide
Denver, Colorado
The restroom is rough. The bar? Pretty damn cool. Cheap drinks, loud music, strange conversations and a room with enough scars to have a personality.

The restroom is rough. The bar? Pretty damn cool. Cheap drinks, loud music, strange conversations and a room with enough scars to have a personality.
There’s something comforting about a bar that has absolutely no interest in impressing you.
No velvet rope. No $19 cocktail served under a cloud of smoke. No bartender explaining the spiritual journey of the mezcal.
Just a dark room, cold beer, TouchTunes, Christmas lights, weird shit hanging on the walls, and strangers slowly becoming drinking companions.
Welcome to Embassy Tavern.
Tucked up in RiNo/Five Points, this is my kind of dive.
The bar looks like something pulled out of an old western town and dropped into modern Denver. Random memorabilia everywhere. Cheap drinks. Lounge seating. Karaoke on Saturdays. And a backyard patio with fireplaces where you can disappear with a beer when the Colorado weather cooperates.
There’s no kitchen either.
Bring your own food.
Again… I respect it.
Sometimes a bar should just be a bar.
And judging by the locals, the craic gets mighty in here.
Best for
- Cold beer, cheap drinks and dive-bar character
- TouchTunes, Christmas lights and weird shit on the walls
- A backyard patio with fireplaces during my visit
Less ideal for
- Planning an extended bathroom visit
- A kitchen—bring your own food

The restroom is rough. No love. No frills. Accessibility and amenities leave plenty to be desired. 1/10.
- Restroom inventory
- 1 reviewed area — 1 restroom area (designation unknown); total venue room count unknown
- Review coverage
- My caption reports two private unisex restrooms, while an entrance photograph has a WOMEN sign. The photographed interior shows a toilet enclosure, urinal and basin, but its entrance was not confirmed. One interior was photographed and reviewed; designation inventory, locking arrangements and full venue fixture counts remain unknown.
- Room reviewed
- One restroom interior from my Embassy Tavern visit; designation unconfirmed

Now, the Shookis.
Oh boy.
This is the classic dive-bar restroom.
No love.
No frills.
No apparent desire to ever become anything more than exactly what it is.
People have taken to writing on the walls, which at this point has basically become part of the decor.
Is it art?
Is it vandalism?
After enough cheap beers, does anybody care?
Accessibility and amenities leave plenty to be desired, and this is definitely not somewhere I’d recommend planning an extended bathroom visit.
1/10.
