Shooki’s Review of Blue Pan Pizza

From one skeptical Michigander: you guys passed. This pizza is really damn good. A little taste of home out West.
“Dude, you have to try this place. They have legit Detroit-style pizza.”
Yeah, yeah.
I’m from Michigan.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard some version of this.
“Authentic Detroit style.”
“Just like back home.”
“The real deal.”
Usually followed by someone handing me a thick square piece of bread with pepperoni on it and expecting me to salute the flag.
So when my friend told me Blue Pan was legit, I had questions.
Apparently the owners grew up in Michigan.
Okay.
Apparently they grew up around Detroit.
Better.
But I’ll be the judge of the pizza.
And…
Goddammit.
They got me.
This pizza is really damn good. 🍕😂
Thick, airy crust. Crispy caramelized cheese around the edges. The kind of square slice that reminds you Detroit has contributed more to civilization than cars and Motown.
Blue Pan calls itself “Detroit-born, Denver-raised.”
Fair enough.
You earned it.
The whole place feels like a little Michigan embassy out West, too. Michigan memorabilia everywhere. Detroit references. A room full of reminders of home.
For Michigan transplants living in Denver, this is basically a cheaper alternative to buying a plane ticket back to DTW.
Come in. Eat a square. Feel something.
Best for
- Thick, airy Detroit-style pizza with crispy caramelized cheese edges
- Michigan memorabilia and Detroit references
- A spacious, private restroom during my visit
Less ideal for
- A restroom that could’ve been a little cleaner

🚽 Private ♿️ Spacious + accessible ✨ Decently maintained 🧼 Could’ve been a little cleaner
Nothing particularly luxurious here, but there’s plenty of room, privacy, and accessibility—which matters a hell of a lot more than fancy wallpaper.
Clean it up just a little more and we’re talking higher territory.
7/10 Shooki.
